Biography - Zubeen Garg

Zubeen Garg (November 18, 1972 – September 19, 2025) was a legendary Assamese singer, composer, music producer, and humanitarian whose voice touched millions across India and beyond.


​Born in Tura, Meghalaya, Zubeen rose to prominence with his soulful voice and versatile musical talents. He sang in multiple languages including Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, and other regional languages, making him one of the most celebrated artists from Northeast India.
​His contributions to Assamese music and culture were immeasurable, with numerous chart-topping songs, albums, and film compositions. Beyond music, he was known for his philanthropic work and dedication to preserving Assamese cultural heritage.


​Though he tragically left us on September 19, 2025, Zubeen's legacy endures through his timeless music and the countless lives he touched with his art and compassion.
